Where Broward Works
One county.
A lot of different jobs.
Broward County Work Injuries
Broward does not have one kind of worker.
A work injury in Broward might happen while unloading cargo, caring for a patient, servicing an aircraft, repairing a yacht, working a hotel shift, delivering packages, stocking a store, building a high-rise, or driving across the county for work.
Port, Marine & Cruise Work
Port Everglades supports cargo operations, cruise activity, trucking, terminal work, marine services, maintenance, fuel operations, and businesses that depend on the port.

Sometimes your workers’ comp case starts in an urgent care waiting room.
An injured worker may report an accident and then be told to go to an occupational medicine clinic. In Broward, employers and insurance carriers may use providers such as Concentra or MD Now for work injury treatment.
More serious injuries may first involve emergency treatment at facilities within Broward Health, Memorial Healthcare System, or another Broward County hospital.
Going to a familiar clinic does not necessarily mean you can choose your own workers’ comp doctor. Except for emergency care and certain other situations under Florida law, workers’ compensation medical treatment generally needs to be authorized by the employer or insurance carrier.
Concentra
Concentra provides occupational health and workers’ compensation injury treatment in the Fort Lauderdale area.
MD Now
MD Now operates multiple Broward County locations and provides occupational medicine and on-the-job injury care.
Broward Health
Broward Health facilities include Broward Health Medical Center, Broward Health North, Broward Health Imperial Point, and Broward Health Coral Springs.
Memorial Healthcare System
Memorial facilities serve injured and ill patients across southern and western Broward County, including Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, and Miramar.
These facilities are listed for general informational purposes only. Chase Injury Law is not affiliated with or recommending any particular medical provider.
Broward Workers’ Comp Problems
The accident is only the beginning.
For many injured workers, the real problem starts days or weeks later when treatment stalls, checks disappear, or nobody seems willing to give a straight answer.
“They said my injury isn’t covered.”
A denial is the insurance company’s position. It does not necessarily end the claim.
Learn about denied claims → No Response“My adjuster stopped answering me.”
Calls and emails go unanswered while treatment, referrals, and benefits remain unresolved.
When the adjuster is not responding → Wage Benefits“My workers’ comp checks stopped.”
Missing or stopped checks can become an immediate financial problem when an injury keeps you from working.
Learn about stopped checks → Doctor Problems“My workers’ comp doctor isn’t listening.”
Before asking to change doctors, understand how Florida’s one-time change process works.
Learn about changing doctors → Employer Problems“My employer won’t report my injury.”
An employer’s refusal to cooperate does not mean you should simply give up on a legitimate work injury.
Learn about unreported injuries → Delayed Treatment“They still haven’t approved my MRI or specialist.”
Delays in testing, referrals, therapy, injections, or surgery can leave an injured worker stuck.

Broward County Workers’ Comp FAQ
Questions injured workers ask.
Do I need a Broward County workers’ comp lawyer if my claim has already been accepted?
An accepted claim can still develop problems. Medical treatment can be delayed, referrals may not be authorized, wage checks can change, work restrictions can create disputes, and an injured worker can be placed at maximum medical improvement before feeling recovered. Speaking with an attorney can help you understand what is happening before a problem becomes more serious.
My employer sent me to Concentra or MD Now. Is that my workers’ comp doctor?
It may be the provider authorized for your initial treatment, but the answer depends on how your employer and workers’ compensation carrier have handled the claim. Florida workers’ compensation medical treatment generally must be authorized by the employer or carrier, except in emergency situations and certain other circumstances.
Can I choose my own workers’ comp doctor in Broward County?
Usually, the workers’ compensation carrier controls the authorized medical provider at the beginning of the claim. Florida law does provide certain rights involving medical care, including a one-time change of physician. The timing and wording of that request can matter.
What if I went to a Broward County emergency room immediately after the accident?
Emergency treatment is treated differently from routine authorized workers’ compensation care. Tell the medical provider that the injury happened at work and provide your employer or workers’ compensation insurance information when available.
Can Chase Injury Law represent me if I live in Broward but was hurt while working somewhere else in Florida?
Yes. Chase Injury Law represents injured workers throughout Florida. The location of your home and the location where your accident happened do not necessarily have to be the same.
How much does it cost to speak with Chase Injury Law?
The consultation is free. There are no attorney’s fees unless Chase Injury Law obtains benefits for you.
