I'm Michelle Chase. When you are injured at work, the last thing you need is to feel like another claim number. I built Chase Injury Law to give injured workers thoughtful, direct representation and someone they can actually talk to.
I'm a former prosecutor with more than a decade of legal experience. Today, I focus my practice on representing Florida's injured workers, including people whose claims have been denied, whose benefits have stopped, or whose treatment is being delayed.

When workers' comp isn't working
The injury was hard enough.
The claim shouldn't be another fight.
You may have reported your accident and followed the rules, yet still find yourself waiting for a doctor, missing income, or unable to get a straight answer.
Treatment keeps getting delayed
Specialists, MRIs, physical therapy, injections, or surgery requests are stalled while you continue to hurt.
Your checks stopped
You cannot work or your wages dropped, but indemnity benefits are late, reduced, or have stopped altogether.
The insurance company denied your claim
The carrier disputes the accident, your diagnosis, or whether your work caused the condition.
Pressure to return too soon
You have restrictions or ongoing symptoms, but the employer wants you back before the work seems manageable.
MMI doesn't make sense
You are told you've reached maximum medical improvement even though you're still dealing with significant limitations.
No one will give you an answer
The adjuster is difficult to reach, authorizations are unclear, and you feel left out of decisions about your care.

Fort Lauderdale work injury questions
Clear answers
matter.
These are a few of the questions injured workers bring to us when things start going wrong.
What should I do after getting injured at work in Fort Lauderdale?
Report the accident to your employer as soon as possible, ask for authorized medical care, and keep track of your symptoms, restrictions, and communications. Florida generally requires notice within 30 days, subject to exceptions. If benefits are delayed or the claim is denied, you can speak with an attorney about your options.
Can I hire a lawyer even if the insurance company accepted my claim?
Yes. An accepted claim can still involve disputes over particular treatments, wage benefits, doctors, work restrictions, or maximum medical improvement. You do not need to wait for a formal denial to ask questions.
Can the workers' comp insurer refuse to authorize my MRI or specialist visit?
Treatment requests can be disputed or delayed even on an accepted claim. We can review the doctor's recommendation and the insurer's response to determine which steps may be available under Florida law.
What if the doctor says my condition is degenerative?
A degenerative or preexisting condition does not automatically mean a claim must be denied. Medical evidence and Florida's causation requirements matter. Whether the workplace accident meets the applicable legal standard depends on the facts.
Are injuries at Port Everglades handled under Florida workers' compensation?
Not always. Some port, dock, and maritime jobs may be subject to the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act or other laws. Your duties, employer, and where the accident occurred help determine which system applies.
Do I have to come into an office for a consultation?
No. Chase Injury Law works with injured workers across Florida and can offer consultations and many case communications by phone and remotely. Particular hearings or other events may require in-person participation.
How much does a consultation cost?
Your initial consultation is free. Chase Injury Law does not charge attorney's fees unless we win. Fee arrangements and any applicable statutory requirements will be explained before representation begins.
